R-Lipoic Acid and R-Dihydro-lipoic Acid – 150 mg RLA/R-DHLA 60 ct bottle
R-PLUS® softgels feature a 50/50 mixture of R-Lipoic acid, the natural form of Lipoic acid, stabilized with its reduced form, R-Dihydro-lipoic Acid (R-DHLA) which increases its bio-availability – that is, its ability to be absorbed and delivered to the cells.
The two forms work closely together in vitro (in cell culture) and in vivo (in the body) by swapping electrons as needed to fight free radicals and generate energy.
The benefit of oil-based R-PLUS® is that it has a longer half life, meaning it stays in the body longer. In fact, blood levels of regular users can be measured for several days at low levels after regular consumption, and even after discontinued use.
Maximum Stability and Better Absorption
Pharmacokinetic data show that people who take R-Lipoic acid in combination with R-DHLA achieve higher blood levels of R-Lipoic acid than those who take R-Lipoic acid alone.
Many experts believe the best approach is to take equal amounts of water-soluble R-Lipoic acid salts, such as Bio-Enhanced® Lipoic Acid or K-RALA-10® as well as oil-based R-PLUS®. Combining them delivers the benefits of both.*
