Lipoic acid may have a positive effect on smoking-induced skin damage.

A recent study was carried out to study possible effects of  Lipoic Acid on smoking-induced rat skin injury and found that it has a curative effect on cigarette-induced injuries on the skin tissues by anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects.
